Wellington Estates is proud to announce that World Mental health Day is here.
What is World Mental Health Day?
World Mental Health Day takes place every year on October 10 with the goal of “raising awareness of mental health issues around the world and mobilizing efforts in support of mental health.”
Here are a few habits that can help you and your loved ones live a [mental] healthier life:
Habits for Better Mental Health
Going for a Walk
Going for a walk can be great for your mental health. You get exercise, you get to be around nature, and you get plenty of sunlight and fresh air. If you walk with a friend, you also gain a social connection.
Although not every walk inherently includes all of these components, they still have tremendous potential for relieving stress, decluttering your head, and changing your mood..
Socializing
Socializing is another great mental health promoting habit. You can meet up with friends, go out for a coffee (or stay put and just schmooze).
Some of the benefits of socializing include social support, a sense of belonging, and combatting loneliness.
Sleep
Sleep isn’t only for your body. When you sleep enough you’re at a healthier place in terms of mental health as well. Conversely, when you sleep too little not only will you feel tired but you’re more likely to get agitated and have less ability to regulate your emotions.
Of course, there’s more to be said about your habits and mental health. But sometimes it’s the seemingly small and often neglected details that make a huge difference.
What can you start doing for your mental health this World Mental Health Day?
