Does your loved one have trouble waking up in the morning?
I know, you’re probably thinking that they have the opposite problem – they wake up too early. Most elderly folk seem to be early risers. Their bodies just won’t sleep past a certain hour.
But in case your loved one is a rare bird who fits the category of seniors sleeping late and would like to rise earlier, read on.
While Wellington Estates prides itself on offering beautiful and luxurious accommodations, we realize that some of our residents may want to spend more hours of their mornings outside of their apartments.
Experiment
The amount of sleep we need isn’t always absolute. You can help your loved experiment getting to bed at different times, maybe a little earlier, and test the results.
Afternoon Nap
Many seniors enjoy an afternoon nap. While the nap has its merits, it can also have the practical consequence of making them less tired. So by supplementing sleep in the afternoon, they may have the energy they need in the morning.
Plan
Many people get up in the morning without a plan or purpose. No wonder we’d rather stay in bed. For many, the Miracle Morning is a good way to start the day. This can make their mornings more meaningful and productive, which may do the trick.
Do you know of any seniors sleeping late?
