Although Wellington Estates isn’t a mental health facility per se, we realize the importance of mental health and promote a lifestyle that suits your loved one’s wellbeing.

Our home-like community and services provide the perfect blend of a solid social support system while taking care of your everyday needs so you can live a stress-free and enjoyable life. In fact, “socializing with family and friends” is a recommended stress management strategy, according to the Mayo Clinic.

Questions to Consider When Thinking About Your Loved One’s Mental Health

But not everyone enjoys this kind of service and social environment. And their mental health is no less important. So, if you have a loved one in your life who isn’t getting this level of care, here are 10 points to think about:

  • What are the stressors in their lives?
  • Do they have a social support system?
  • What would be a sign that would get you concerned and cause you to reach out to professional help?
  • Have they suffered from mental health issues in the past?
  • What can be done to ease their load?
  • Is there a family history of mental health disorders?
  • What do they enjoy doing?
  • How can you be there for them?
  • What could you do today to brighten their day?
  • What is it that they need from you?

Remember, being there for a loved one can go a long way towards their wellbeing. So, never underestimate even a small gesture.

Whose mental health can you help with today?
