Dealing With Dizziness

What is Dizziness?

Dizziness is that feeling you get when things seems to be spinning. You might feel lightheaded, nauseous, and like you’re about to fall or faint. While it can be very uncomfortable on its own, dizziness is more of a symptom than a medical condition.

Dizziness can be a symptom of many different conditions, including stroke, blood circulation issues, and neurological conditions among others.

 Getting rid of Dizziness

If you start feeling dizzy, you’re likely to want to rid yourself of the experience as quick as possible.

Here are some simple treatments that may help you deal with the dizziness.

Water

When you’re dehydrated, your body may react by becoming dizzy. If that’s what it’s about, drinking enough water and getting hydrated may help you regain your sense of orientation and balance.

Nutrients

Different nutrients work on different areas in your body, and some may help with reducing dizziness. Specifically, vitamin C, vitamin E, vitamin B-6, and Iron can help with dizziness thanks to their healing functions.

Ginger

Motion sickness, a form of dizziness, may be treatable by using ginger. Ginger may also help for nausea in pregnant women.

These are just some of the ways to manage dizziness, and you should always speak to your doctor before adding anything to your diet since it may interfere with your health.

When to get Emergency Care

Dizziness may require medical attention. So look out for additional symptoms and experiences if you have dizziness.

The Mayo Clinic suggests getting emergency medical care if you have vertigo or get new, severe dizziness along with one of these experiences:

  • Fainting
  • Chest pain
  • Sudden hearing change
  • Seizure
  • Numbness or weakness in the face
  • Vomiting continuously
  • Seeing things double
  • Trouble breathing
  • A severe headache that comes suddenly
  • Feeling numb or paralyzed in the arms or legs
  • An irregular or rapid heartbeat
  • Having trouble walking or stumbling
  • Speaking slurred or confusion
